Somalia remains the worst humanitarian catastrophe in the world with:

• 3.5 million Somalis, 45% of the entire population suffering from hunger and malnutrition and are in dire need of emergency humanitarian assistance.
• Nearly 1.5 million internally displaced persons (IDPs).
• Of the 3.5 million, 650,000 children are under the age of five.

Over 600,000 Somali refugees are living in neighboring countries:

• Kenya: 338,150
• Yemen: 165,200
• Ethiopia: 75,965
• Uganda: 15,600
• Djibouti: 13,190
• Eritrea and Tanzania: 6,010
